The sun rose on the smouldering ruins of one Grand Forks hotel while another was damaged in two incidents the RCMP say are suspicious, reports the Grand Forks Gazette.

A plan to turn a brown field near Kimberley into a solar power station – to the cost of $2 million – will go before voters this fall, reports Carolyn Grant for the Kimberley Bulletin.

The city has done a study and believes the two megawatt facility would be revenue neutral to taxpayers.
