Missing woman found in reservoir

The Nakusp and Revelstoke RCMP have have found the body of 83-year-old Kay Mansour, a Nakusp woman missing since Monday, Oct. 24.
Mansour’s vehicle was located submerged in Arrows Lake by RCMP Air Services on Saturday, Nov. 5, followed by a recovery of the deceased woman from her vehicle by the RCMP diver tea
Next of kin notified, deceased Nelson man named

The next of kin have been notified and a Nelson family has learned their loved one, James Forrest Kienholz, 64, was the man killed in a float plane accident near Nakusp, reports the Nelson Post.
Kienholz and the pilot, also from Nelson, were landing on Upper Arrow Lake on Wednesday, Aug. 24 near Nakusp when their float plane crashed. The pilot, a 79-year-old man, escaped with minor injuries.

More details are coming out about the float plane crash near Nakusp: Reports from various media are the passenger, who died in the crash, and pilot, who escaped with minor injuries, are both from Nelson B.C.
Claire Paradis, reporting for the Arrow Lakes News, spoke with the pilot on the shore of the lake watching as the plane was hauled out of the water.
Passenger dies in float plane accident

One person is dead and another in hospital after a float plane crashed in Upper Arrow Lake, reports Claire Paradis for the Arrow Lakes News.
Paradis spoke to Ray Lythgoe who saw the plane go down just offshore of Nakusp.
“I heard the motor go dead,” Lythgoe said, “then a big splash.” Conditions were sunny and calm at the time.
Attack at Nakusp hot springs not hate crime: Police

Police say they don’t have evidence to pursue a hate crime charge for the beating of a man at a hot spring outside of Nakusp, reports the CBC.
Police identified a Calgary man as the suspect and are pursuing an assault charge against him.
“I don’t know what the motive was,” said Cpl. Bryson Hill. “We have heard everybody’s side of it. We can only go on that. There really isn’t anything at this point to suggest it was hate motivated.”
