The District of Elkford had a great rebranding of their website last year which makes it a pleasure to visit the community’s major web presence. They’re continuing on with the humour with this latest video. Every community should approach their promotion with such humour.
At the moment it looks like the bear family that included two unique white bears have hibernated, reports Jenna Jensen for the Fernie Free Press.
The bear family drew provincial attention last week because of the white cubs that form part of the four-bear family. There were concerns the animals would have to be destroyed because they were getting into garbage and unpicked fruit around the East Kootenay town.
A black bear family with two unique white cubs has Elkford worried the animals may have to be shot, reports Evan Duggan at the Vancouver Sun.
There’s even been a town meeting to try and settle on a way to drive the family out of town and, hopefully, into hibernation.
The Elk Valley RCMP is currently searching for three-year-old Kienan Hebert of Sparwood B.C., reported missing from the family home this morning, Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Kienan is described as having short blond hair, wearing “Scooby Doo” cartoon boxer shorts and may be carrying up to three blankets with him. Kienan exited the family home sometime overnight and was discovered missing at 8:30 a.m.. The Hebert’s reside in the Sparwood Heights area just off of Hwy. 43 North in Sparwood, BC.
