It was a busy week for Revelstoke’s search and rescue crew last week when the team rescued seven people, reports Alex Cooper for the Revelstoke Times Review.

All the incidents ended well for those lost. One incident involved a skier and two others involved snowmobilers. One group were close to a cabin and could actually see it but were stuck in deep terrain and couldn’t reach the shelter. That incident was frustrating for search and rescue manager Buck Corrigan.
Corrigan expressed frustration at the fact the men turned off their cell phones after calling for help. “We couldn’t get a hold of them to find out what was going on,” he said.
He advised that people heading out make sure their cell phones have enough battery power to call for help in case of emergency.
