The Canadian Avalanche Centre is bringing avalanche safety courses to the Kootenays, reports Timothy Schafer for the Trail Daily Times.

The three-hour workshop covers safety for skiers, boarders, snowshoers and snowmobilers, says Penny Goddard from the avalanche centre.
“Winter is coming fast this year,” she said. “Just like we tune up our equipment for our first backcountry outing, these seminars will get your brain in tune.”
