Vandals cut down a tree and destroyed a forestry sign with it near Cranbrook, reports Sally MacDonald for the Cranbrook Daily Townsman.
Police believe a person used an axe to cut down the tree so it fell on the kiosk for the Cranbrook Community Forest. Kathleen Opal, a member of the community forest society, said the sign is complete write off.
“I’m not a tree cutter, but they would have had to angle it and direct it,” she said. “It was a deliberate act; it wasn’t random.”
