Randall Hopley, the man accused of kidnapping three-year-old Kienan Hebert earlier this month, had his first appearance before the courts yesterday, reports Sally Macdonald for the Cranbrook Daily Townsman.
Hopley faces charges of abduction, break and enter and breaking probation.
“Mr. Hopley is very sad and sorry for being in the situation that he’s in,” [Hopley's counsel, William] Thorne said. “He’s also glad to see that the young boy got returned home safely … I don’t know if he’s under any (suicide watch), but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was.”
