An East Kootenay boy was shot and killed by a 10-year-old holding a loaded shotgun, reports the CBC.
The incident occurred in Jaffray, east of Cranbrook, on Thursday, June 16 when six teens got hold of the firearm. The RCMP are investigating the owner of a shotgun after their firearm ended up in the hands of several youth. The shotgun went off in the hands of a 10-year-old boy, killing a 17-year-old, says Cpl. Three of the teens lived in the house and three were visiting. There was no indication of liquor or drug use, said Faulkner.
