The Austrailian family of Owen Rooney is still in the province looking for their son, missing since August of this year.

Rooney, 24, was last seen at the Grand Forks Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 14. He showed up at the hospital with two black eyes and either would not, or could not, tell hospital staff how he was injured.

Rooney left the hospital without his backpack and hasn’t been seen since. The man was working in Kelowna at the time.

Rooney’s family came to B.C. to look for him in September. Rooney is 5’9″ and 160 pounds, very short brown hair, with bruising on his face. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt and 3/4 shorts.

“Owen’s family are still here in B.C., and have been actively assisting investigators. The Owen family would like to extend their appreciation for all the support shown by all of the communities in the areas canvassed,” added Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

I drove to Kelowna this morning and his family has been working hard. I saw posters all the way from home to Kelowna. The hospital is plastered with them as was the restaurant I ate at and the book store I shopped at.

I hope they find this young dude alive.
